KOLKATA CHAPTER

This year, Anavi organised a special programme on World Literacy Day, which is held on 8th November with the underprivileged children of Nabaneer Non formal Teaching School.

October is a time of festivities. But this year the festivities came a little early for the twenty seven odd kids at Topsia Creche.

On 17 th of August ’12, five members of Anavi (Bernie Mendonca, Abira Roychowdhury, Sangita Saha, Sangita Mukherjee, and Meeta Chakrabarty) went to Apon Ghar the old-age home in Thakurpukur.

Today our members visited the Topsia creche for small children. Following members visited the creche.

We the members of Anavi went to Nabaneer school on 31st July, We went there around 4 PM as advised by their headmistress Sumita’di.

On the afternoon of 16 June we went to the Chetla Nabanir nonformal school.

Anavi celebrated its fourth anniversary on 16th June 2013. Over the years, through our tireless efforts, we have been able to make significant differences to a lot of people’s lives who unfortunately have not been as lucky as us.

This Day Care Centre cum Nursery School comes under the banner of the Women’s Co-ordination Council of West Bengal.

Our visit to Apon Ghar on the 28th March 2012 was as always a touching and beautiful experience.
