KOLKATA CHAPTER

It is little difficult not to get a lump in the throat when one visits the 1st floor of the Ramola Villa.

“Keep it up!” Our elders and teachers have always been giving us this small piece of encouragement after a good performance. It is always more difficult to stay on top after getting there.

During the month of December 2010 a record 3 visits were made to our Homes and Schools.

We spent a delightful afternoon with the inmates of Ramola Bhavan – we spoke to them, heard their stories and told them about ourselves too.

Our visit to this home was one of the most touching and fulfilling visits. This home has 72 ladies, 16 gents and a staff of 15.

Visit to Nabaneer
Parivaar visited Nabaneer on the 17th July and served the old ladies lunch.

Members present were 14,The last visit was to New Juniors Janakalyan School in Colin Street where we sponsored the white washing of the 3 class rooms.

Visit to Janakalyan Society
I visited the above school this morning. During the summer vacation we had given them Rs.4000/- to have the class rooms white washed as they were in bad shape – I found that the classes looked so bright and clean after the white washing has been done – the children too looked happy to see their classes looking bright and good.

It is with great pride that we can inform you that PARIVAAR has completed one glorious year today

Mita Di, Sharmila De with her daughter Disha and Bernie Mendonca with her daughter Samantha visited the school at 10 am on the 13th April.
