Ms. Vedika Gupta from KCML visits Janvi – Anavi School 

Testimonial – “It was an enriching experience to spend time with the students of Janvi – Anavi School and the Digital Centre. It is a live example of how education and vocational training can bring difference to the lives of children.

At the digital centre, there was a spark in students’ eyes as we talked about the possibilities of their future. It was quite evident they do feel the Janvi Trust. Ashley and Fatima Pereira have been doing an outstanding work in ensuring the training is provided as per each student’s interest, which is not restricted to academics.

At the school, I was delighted to see the excitement and joy all kids had in showing their dancing and other skills.  It is a pleasure to see that the children aren’t stopped them from dreaming big & aiming at the sky. There were instances where I was almost in tears after talking to the students. I felt so small when these students gave me flowers and cards (next time I come to Mumbai, I am sure to get them something nice). The biggest impact I saw was the families of the slum could witness their children learning in the surroundings and they didn’t need to send their children far away to access education and learning. In one instance I saw a father with a little daughter in his arms watching the school students dance and enjoy their time. Hope he was thinking of his daughter’s bright future. I look forward to come back to Mumbai and again meeting the children and see them grow and do something meaningful and joyful in life. “
