Anavi members began the new decade with great enthusiasm. And we had good reason to do so. As we begin another decade of spreading cheer and hope across different cities, we have begun this year with a promise to make significant improvements in the lives of those not as fortunate as ourselves.
First step in this direction was taken at the monthly meeting where we decided to go ahead with the renovation work at Pratyusha home. This is a institute run by Voice of World for visually impaired and destitute girls. Anavi has stepped forward to undertake the repairs in phase wise manner of this institute. Work will begin in first week of February 2020. Watch this space for more on that.
This project is the second major infrastructure project with Voice of World. Anavi has previously sponsored the renovation of their kitchen and dining area.
Anavi members also participated in the Republic Day celebrations at Cremers Foundation Sarsuna. A drawing competition, extempore and quiz was organized by Tuhina and Arpan, who have been teaching English at the Cremers Foundation as a part of Anavi initiative. Anavi has always supported such efforts to develop the extra-curricular skills of the children.
The monthly lunch and visit to Cremers foundation was also a memorable one as the students and school authorities conveyed their thanks to us for the special gift on Christmas. Anavi got the damaged window and glass panes repaired at the hostel. Considering the chilly winters in Kolkata this year, this was a small but very valuable gift for the children who stay there.
Our monthly visit to Voice of World to give the 75 litres of mustard oil was also beginning of another association with them. We conveyed our commitment to the Pratyusha home project.

Online line classes began and for those who could not afford to arrange for online classes, after school programs were put in place where in parents who feel comfortable sending the children to attend the after school program were provided study assistance and also were engaged with other activities like art and craft sessions too.

During the lockdown, in August we arranged to supply coffee powder, face mask, sanitizers & sanitizer stands.
We are looking forward to visiting them all but until then we are praying for each other and trusting God to clear the virus.
